3 – National Teachers Day (Tuesday of the first full week of May)  Call your local PTA or PTSA and see what you can do to help celebrate the teachers in your local schools!

4 – Bird Day  - Check out our animal series of sphere of influence postcards and start staying in touch today!

5 –  Cinco de Mayo-  Oh now we’re talking – check out our recipe for Guacamole and Enjoy!  Margaritas anyone?

5 – -National Hoagie Day – Mmm….head down to your local sub shop and order up some hoagies for six of your favorite clients!

5 Oyster Day – Half shell?  Fried?  Eat ‘em if you’ve got ‘em!  Have a client that’s a seafood fan?  Invite one to lunch!

6 Military Spouses Day – If you’ve got a base nearby, call up and as for the Ombudsman and see if there’s anything you can do to show our military spouses some appreciation this week!

6 National Nurses Day – Head to your local doctor’s offices or hospitals with daisies or candy and a little note from you letting them know you appreciate them and if they ever need some real estate guidance or assistance you’ve got just the right prescription!

6 No Diet Day – I can get behind this one – DIET after all – -is a four letter word!

8 No Socks Day – Ummmm….not sure who the heck made this one up?

8 -World Red Cross Day / World Red Crescent Day  – With everything going on in the world these days – this organization stands strong to help those most in need when they need it most.  Visit http://www.redcross.org/ today and help where you can.

9 Lost Sock Memorial Day – Anyone else envisioning a shrine by the dryer that sucks unsuspecting socks into the abyss?

10 Clean up Your Room Day  – Parents – this day is YOUR day to get those kids up and moving!  Tell them it’s an international rule or something!  For the rest of us – toss at least 10 things from your desk that are cluttering things up and that you’ll never use in a million years!  It’s a GREAT feeling!

11 National Receptionist Day – Corporate marketing your niche?  Be sure to show some appreciation for the receptionists at the corporations in your sphere!  After all – they are the gatekeepers!  www.prospectsplus.com/CMS

12 Limerick Day – Break out your inner poet today and post some fun (but clean!) limericks to your social media page sites.

15 Police Officer’s Memorial Day –Pay tribute to our fallen officers today.  Contact your local Fraternal Order of Police and see what you can do to help our safe-guarders and first responders in your community!

16 Wear Purple for Peace Day – Love this idea!  We’ve got enough discord in our world to go around – this day – let us work for a more peaceful world.

18 International Museum Day – When was the last time you took your family to a museum?  Sounds like this is the perfect day to check out your local art, science or history museum and learn something new!

21 Armed Forces Day – What a great day to thank those who’ve honored us and sacrificed to keep us safe.  Learn more about the US version of this holiday here:  http://www.defense.gov/afd/

21 National Waiters and Waitresses Day – Take a veteran to lunch today and hey — tip well!  Service professionals need a day of recognition too!

23 Lucky Penny Day – Wouldn’t it be fun to get a few rolls of new pennies from the bank and hand them out all day as your way of bringing a little “luck” and good “fortune” to everyone who crosses your path?

27 Sun Screen Day – An important thing for all of us to remember well!  Connect with local physicians to create a skin cancer awareness event in your area, or walk your neighborhood or geographic farm and hand out sample size tubes of sunscreen and introduce yourself as the neighborhood specialist who cares!  What’s your SPF?
